Strellner, Dolores

Dolores Strellner passed away at University Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in Des Moines. She was born Feb. 14, 1926, to Elmer and Christine (Hecker) Ellestad in Duluth, Minn. Dolores married Donald D. Strellner in 1978.

Dolores spent most of her adult years in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She enjoyed meeting people and sold Avon products for over 23 years and worked as a waitress also before retiring.

Dolores is survived by her son, Dr. Stephen M. Ellestad and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Stephen J. Ellestad and Sarah M. Ellestad; and a great-granddaughter. Kaia S. Ellestad.

She is also survived by her brother, Donald Ellestad; along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Dorothy Burgett and Marjorie Meyers; and niece, Susan Weigand.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with a service beginning at 3 p.m. with Dr. Kay Slocum officiating.
