Strefling, Roger William
Funeral services for Roger William Strefling, 70, of Tipton, who died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. A visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rochester Cemetery.

Roger William Strefling, son of Albert Louie and Edna Mable Born Strefling, was born May 1, 1939, in Blue Island, Ill. He was a 1957 graduate of Tipton High School. He served in the United States Army. Roger was united in marriage to Karen Ann Sherwood on June 6, 1964, in Sugar Creek Church, Cedar County, Iowa. He enjoyed gardening his tomatoes, fishing and trapping, golfing and the river boats. Roger was employed by Alcoa Aluminum as a plate mill supervisor for 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the Tipton VFW, past member of the Tipton Moose and served as a board member for the Tipton Country Club.
Roger is survived by his wife, Karen Strefling of Tipton; daughters, Heather Strefling and Heidi (Rick) Shumaker, all of Tipton; grandchildren, Erica and Caleb; sister, Karen (Rich) Zobel of Tipton; his granddog, Gracee; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughters, Martha and Mary.
Memorials may be made to the Tipton Ambulance or Hospice.
