Streff, Elizabeth 'Betty' Jane
Elizabeth "Betty” Jane Streff, 60, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday July 2, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, by the Rev. David Beckman. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, where a vigil will begin at 4 p.m.
Survivors include her husband, David Sopousek; her sons, Nicholas (Cara) Streff of Marion, Jay (Becky) of Palo and Scott (Tiffany) Sopousek of Chicago, a daughter; Jenny (David) Lewis of Minneapolis, a sister, Patty (Dennis) Pfiffner of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Bob Goheen of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; and her grandchildren, Mara, Taylor, Colin, Anna, Isabel and Noah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Quentin.
Betty was born July 5, 1950, in McGregor, Iowa, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Bogue) Goheen Jr. She was a physical therapy assistant and a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She enjoyed riding bikes, playing tennis, jogging and picnics with her grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
