Stover, Betty J.
Betty J. Stover, 88, died Sunday morning, April 15, 2012, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the United Methodist Church, Anamosa, with interment in Forest Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Laurie Riley will officiate at the services.
There are no immediate survivors.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Wilma Stover.
Betty J. Stover was born Dec. 5, 1923, in Greenfield Township, Jones County, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbur J. and Muriel (Bartlett) Stover. Betty was a graduate of the Anamosa Community Schools and the University of Iowa. She taught for two years in Wayne Township School 6. She later worked for 41 years at the University of Northern Iowa on the secretarial staff, retiring in 1986, when she moved back to Anamosa.
Betty had served in many offices and as a board member in local, state and national offices of the Education Office Personel Association. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church, BPW, Concord, WGC and Main Street Anamosa.
