Stordahl, Carolyn

Carolyn Stordahl, 78, of Marion, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at her home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at First Congregational Church in Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bob David. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Norman; her children, Mons Curtis Stordahl of Sanford, Fla., and Burkley Jay Stordahl of Marion; and a granddaughter, Gunevere Renee Robles of Wichita, Kan.

Carolyn was born June 19, 1933, one of 13 children, the daughter of George and Mary (Savage) Beaumier Sr., in Longmeadow, Mass. She married Norman Stordahl on March 14, 1954, in Good Fellow AFB, Texas. She served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Carolyn was a nurse's aide and activity director at Crestview Acres for many years, then worked as a housekeeper at St. Luke's Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo and reading.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Carolyn's memory.
