Stone, Evelyn B.
Evelyn B. Stone, 85, a resident of Northbrook Manor, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died there Thursday, July 29, 2010. Friends and family are welcome to a celebration of her life service: 11 a.m., Saturday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Pastor Mike Ellson and Pastoral Assistant Ken Graham of Center Point United Methodist Church will officiate. Patty Green will be the pianist and vocalist.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Carma (Vern) Almandinger of Center Point and Mary (Tony) Garrison of Wapello; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geralding King of Muscatine and Harriette Hullinger of Pekin, Ill.; nieces; nephews; and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Richard Krider and Fently Stone; and her son, Thomas.
She was born in Peoria, Illinois, to Karl and Mae Malchert. Evelyn was an accomplished seamstress and an excellent cook. Evelyn enjoyed music, walking, flowers, bright colors, shoes, sparkle jewelry, making others laugh and helping everyone.
She loved being with her family and her kind, little blue German eyes will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
