Stokka, Pastor Bruce N.
Pastor Bruce N. Stokka, 84, of Chippewa Falls, Wis., went to be with his Lord on Nov. 13, 2010, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Crossroads Church, Chippewa Falls, with Pastor Wade Duroe officiating. Burial, with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council, will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before services Wednesday at Crossroads Church, 209 W. South Ave., Chippewa Falls.
Bruce was born May 12, 1926, in Luverne, N.D., to Marie (Loge) and Martin Stokka. He married Eleanore Litzkow on Dec. 28, 1950. From 1954 until 1990, he served as an Evangelical Free Church pastor in Plum City, Wis., Rice Lake, Wis., Rapid City, S.D., and Cedar Rapids. After retirement, he served in a jail ministry in Cedar Rapids and as a chaplain in several care centers. He and his wife have been residents of Chippewa Falls since 2006.
Bruce served his country honorably in the U.S Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanore; four daughters, Cheryl (Bruce) Tay, Laurel (Philip) Print, Joan (Samuel) Wharton and Lynn (Bradford) Seaman; two sons, Joel (Beth) Stokka and Brian (Michele) Stokka; 21 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard and Morris Stokka; and a grandson, Levi Stokka on June 12, 2007.
