Stewart, Judith Jo
Judith Jo Stewart was born June 30, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Dorothy Klein Knipfer. She graduated from North English High School. In the spring of 1961, she was united in marriage to Harold Moffit at the First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg. They later divorced. She enjoyed going to Tama, doing crafts, painting, beadwork, cooking, baking, hunting and fishing.
Judith died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Colonial Manor in Amana following a long illness at the age of 68 years.
She is survived by two sons, Roy Dale (Annette Van Thournout) Moffit of Parnell and William (Dena) Moffit of Fairfax; two grandchildren, Brayden William Moffit and Mack Patrick Moffit; a stepgrandson, Nathan Dennis Brothers; two brothers, Donald Knipfer of Paduca, Tenn., and Gerald Knipfer of Grand Mound; and a sister, Rita Walter of Homestead.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Orlin Knipfer.
Celebration of Life service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. The Rev. Kip Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
A general memorial fund has been established.
