Stevens, Pamela
Pamela Stevens, 74, of Victor, passed away at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012. A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor, with the Rev. Brian Shepley officiating. Organist will be Verabeth Bricker and vocalist Anna Upah. Casket bearers will be Justin Belden, Chad Roberts, Jim Richardson, Matthew James Richardson, Jeremy Richardson and Matt Richardson. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Victor. A visitation will be held before the service from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Pamela was born Dec. 3, 1938, to Richard and Margaret Burry Ringler in Iowa City, Iowa. She started her education at St. John's Catholic School in Victor, attending until the eighth grade, then attended and graduated from Iowa Valley Community High School with the class of 1956. She began working in Cedar Rapids for a short time before moving to Burbank, Calif. On Nov. 27, 1957, she was united in marriage to Melvin Stevens at St. Xavier's Catholic Church in Burbank. The couple later returned to Iowa to raise their five children on the family farm. Pamela was employed by Amana Refrigeration for 22 years. She was forced to retired after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Pamela enjoyed spending time with her mother and all her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and Danny O' Donnel, and was proud to be part Irish. She was inspiration to all the lives she touched, and was always putting them before herself. She will be greatly missed.
Pamela is survived by her mother, Margaret Ringler of Marengo; sister, Cheryl (Jim) Richardson of Rock Island, Ill.; brother, Richard Ringler of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Darlene (Daniel) Belden of Marengo and Laura Roberts of Victor; son, Darrel (Jill) Stevens of Victor; grandsons, Chad (Chloe) Roberts of Victor, Justin Belden of Cedar Rapids and Levi Stevens of Victor; granddaughter, Ashley Belden of Parnell; great-grandson, Cohen Roberts of Victor; niece, Jessica Ringler; and nephews, Matt and Jeremy Richardson.
She was preceded in death by her father; Richard; husband, Melvin, of 44 years; sons, Dale and Mark Stevens; and son-in-law, Greg Roberts.
