Stevens, Beatrice
Beatrice Stevens, 80, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at home in Cedar Rapids. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Gospel Tabernacle Church, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Bell. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Oakhill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, George Stevens of Cedar Rapids; children, George (Diana) Stevens Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Melvin (Laura) Stevens of Charlotte, N.C. and Charles (Veronica) Stevens of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Gertrude (Jack) Harris of Cedar Rapids, Dora Mae Wise of Cedar Rapids, Eddie (Gloria) Green Jr. of Wichita, Kan., Robert (Patricia) Green of Covington, Ga., and Wallace Green of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Robert Oliver of Cedar Rapids; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Sylvia Green; sisters, Katherine Oliver, Ollie Dean and Bernice Stevens; and brother, Clarence Green.
Beatrice was born on Feb. 24, 1932, in Macon, Miss., daughter of Eddie and Sylvia (Helen) Green. She was a member of the Church of God In Christ. Beatrice loved sewing and especially spending time with her family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Luke's Hospice, nieces and daughter-in-law.
