Steven Porter McShane, 80, of Springville, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Pinicon Senior Living in Anamosa, Iowa. A Joint Celebration of Life for Steve and his wife, Gladys, who passed away on November 26, 2024, will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. A Private Family Inurnment will be held.
Steven was born on October 30, 1944, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Aubrey and Lorean (Spacek) McShane. He was a Springville High School graduate. On October 16, 1965, Steven was united in marriage to Gladys Marie McShane in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Together, they dedicated their lives to farming in Springville. Steven was a lifelong Democrat and enjoyed political discourse and debates. He loved the outdoors, including working, fishing, and deer, coon, and mushroom hunting. Most of all, he enjoyed hard work and his family. Steven will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Steven is survived and lovingly remembered by his children, Troy (Diane) McShane and Karmin (Shawn) McShane Voigt; grandchildren, Ryan (Janey) McShane, Amanda (Mark) Kelchen, Alexander Bradbury, Hannah (Zach) Cain, Emma (Parker) Steffen, and Graham Bradbury; stepgrandchildren, Harrison Voigt, Jackson Voigt, Madison Voigt, and Mackenzie Voigt; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laura (Gary) Hendrickson and Evelyn (Harry) Hart; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 59 years, Gladys McShane.
