STEVEN LIVERMORE
Cedar Rapids
Steve was born on Jan. 26, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, to John and Shirley Livermore. At a young age, Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, building muscle cars and riding his Harley. He also enjoyed drag racing and attending NHRA events. Steve met his beautiful wife, Susan, in 1987. They enjoyed creating a life together over the next 34 years. He spent much of his life working as a welder and retired from CEI. Steve was a member of First Christian Church/New Disciples, where he served as a property director, deacon and elder and had many cherished friends over the years. Throughout his life, Steve enjoyed spending time with horses, boating, camping and road trips with his family. Steve was a wild spirit and lived a life full of adventure up to his final days.
Friends and family will remember Steve's sense of humor, as being tough and stubborn (surviving a long list of injuries that usually came with an accompanying story), his love for his Dobermans and rescue dog Sunny, and sweet gestures to those he cared for.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; children, Joe Livermore, Nate Livermore and Ashley (Jacob) Scherrman; brother, Roy (Wilma) Livermore; mother and father-in-law, Ed and Roberta Hoffman; and brothers-in-law, Jim Hoffman and John (Wendy) Hoffman; and nieces, Mandy and Ashley.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, any donation funds can be directed to Susan and will be put towards the funeral service and to carry out Steve's final wishes.
