Steven L. Larson, 57, of Marion, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, March 20, 2014, after a courageous 15-year battle with cancer. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Marion. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Lisa; three sons, Lucas of Marion and Sean (Amanda) and Casey (Lindsey), both of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Connie Rettkowski and Diane Larson, both of Marion; a brother, Art (Kristy) of Pine River, Minn.; two grandchildren, Payton and Mason; and his extended South Dakota family to include Geneva, Darwin and Sheree Fodness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Marilyn Dede Larson; friend, Arlyn Fodness; and special uncle and aunt, Melvin and Jeanette Buckner.
Steve was born Feb. 25, 1957, in Cedar Rapids. He married Lisa M. Pegump on July 4, 1989, in Lake Tahoe, Nev. Steve worked at Cherry-Burrell in the shipping department for over 28 years, and most recently was employed at Marion Mixer.
Steve was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Marion. He enjoyed camping, traveling and especially the time spent in the garage with his beloved family and many friends.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established in Steve's name.
