Steven Charles Sachtjen, 71, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Visitation: 4-6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2025, Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2025, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids.
Steven was born on April 1, 1953, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Merlyn and Edith (Dibbert) Sachtjen.
Steven worked at Rockwell Collins for 46 years. He was the brains behind all the family vacations. He enjoyed camping, fishing, antique planes, radios, Green Bay Packers, and most of all spending time with his family.
Steven is survived by his children, Jenny (Dustin) VansCoy, Alicia (Josh) Gaule, and Samantha Schutte; grandchildren, Micah, Millie, Kailani, Monroe, and Madison; significant other, Debbie Schutte; and former wife, Diane O’Neil-Sachtjen.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents and cat Ozzie.
