Steven Blanchett, 29, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will follow the service from 3 to 4 p.m. Following the visitation there will be a time of gathering for family and friends at Calvary Baptist Church. Cremation will follow the service.
Steven was born Jan. 21, 1986, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Timothy and Kim (Parker) Blanchett. He married the love of his life, Chrissy, on July 21, 2008, in Cedar Rapids.
He loved his family with all his heart; his mom and dad were his world. He had a great love for his two little girls, Hannah and Norah. He was very close with his brother, Jared, and his sister, Kendra. Steve shared a very special love with his wife.
He loved watching football, especially the Chicago Bears, and working on his truck.
Steve loved making people laugh; he had a sense of humor that could light up a room. Steve loved working for FedEx. He also was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Steve relied on his faith to help guide him through all the adversity he faced during his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Chrissy, and their two daughters, Hannah and Norah; his parents, Tim and Kim Blanchett; siblings, Jared (Kristy) Blanchett, Kendra (Calvin) Blanchett, Cindy Parks and Lexi Parks; grandparents, Jesse Parker, Kathryn (Fred Clinton) Baker and George (Joyce) Bulen; mother-in-law, Cindy Hamilton; father-in-law, Gregg (Julie) Parks; nieces, Madison, Allison, Emma, Hailey, Calli, Mya, Lily, Caylee and Ali; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by four unborn angels; his sister, Carly; brother-in-law, Chad Parks; grandmother, Edythe Parker; and grandmother, Linda Parks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
