Steve W. Goodson, 55, of Robins, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Faith Bible Church by Pastor Steve Benton. Friends may visit with the family from
6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Steve is survived by his wife, Pat; two daughters, Kristin (Pramit) Tamrakar of Cedar Rapids and Katie (Lance) Knight of Kansas City; one grandson, Micah Tamrakar; his parents, Roger and Norma Goodson; two sisters, Becky (Bill) Konigsmark of Cedar Rapids and MaryLynn (Terry) Christopher of St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, Dan (Elissa) Goodson of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers-in-law, Tom (Sheryl) Church and Dick (Mary) Church, both of Cedar Rapids; and sister-in-law, Susan (Jeff) Griggs of Prophetstown, Ill.; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and two uncles.
Steve was born April 14, 1961, in Chicago, the son of Roger and Norma Goodson. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1980. Steve married Pat Church on May 15, 1982, in Cedar Rapids. He was owner and general contractor for Leisure Living Construction Inc. for nearly 30 years. He was a member of Faith Bible Church.
Steve enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, trips to the Caribbean, scuba diving and spending time with his family. His newest joy was his 3-month-old grandson, Micah.
