Steve is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joyce; a son, Bruce of Denver, Colo.; his mother, Dorothy; and seven siblings, Dean (Penny), Don (Cindy), Gary (Julie) and Larry (Sue), all of Monticello, Ronald (Deb), Ocala, Fla., Marjorie (Steve) Shadwick, Lexington, Ky., and Kenneth Waldo, Fla.; his aunt, Ruth Ehrisman, and his mother-in-law, Helen Rahe, both of Monticello; brother- and sisters-in-law, Dennis (Deb) Rahe, Fairfax, and Donna Kluesner, Farley; and many nieces and nephews who enjoyed spending time with "Uncle Steve."
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim; and grandparents, Lou and Hattie Ehrisman and Albert and Elizabeth Holub.
Steven Ehrisman was born Dec. 25, 1961, at John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa, the son of James H. and Dorothy M. Holub Ehrisman. He married Joyce Rahe on May 8, 1981, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello. Together they set out on a life's journey and welcomed a son, Bruce, in 1985. They found the perfect home in 1988, country living close to town. Steve worked at the Iowa State Men's Reformatory for 17 1/2 years. He started Ehrisman Tree Service in 1986 as a sideline and as it grew, left the reformatory to pursue it full time. He also started Blade Pest Control, was the Eagles Club manager, did two housing developments and home building and a few other ventures.
Steve had a passion for life, his cattle, his dog, Rudy, and good food, but mostly talking with people of all ages. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, vacationing in warm places and laughing with friends and family.
