Stephen “Stevie” Ray Barber, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at his home. A visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, June 20, with a funeral service to immediately follow at Church of the King in Cedar Rapids. Burial will immediately follow the service at Urbana Memorial Cemetery in Urbana, Iowa. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Stevie was born Aug. 24, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Rex and Joy (Uthoff) Barber. He enjoyed riding his bike, tinkering in the garage, and especially loved watching TV with his mom. Throughout his life, Stevie was a part of the Retardation Association/Arc of East Central Iowa and attended church every Sunday. Stevie was devoted and dedicated helper at Cassill Motors. He volunteered six days a week for 22 years and loved being a part of the team. Stevie will be remembered as part of the Cassill Motors family forever.
Survivors include his mother, Joy Barber; sister, Debi (Troy) Smith; niece, Charisma (Brian) Wickham; great-nieces, Adreanna and Jasmine Wickham; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins on the Barber and Uthoff sides.
Stevie was preceded in death by his father, Rex Barber.
Memorials may be directed to Church of the King or Arc of East Central Iowa.
