Stephen Rex "Virg" Heishman, 59, of Brooklyn, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, surrounded by his
loving family. A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Holiday Lake Community Center, with the Rev. John Reynolds Jr. officiating. A casual and informal celebration of Virg's life and a meal will follow. Inurn-ment will be at a later date. Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Tebbenhoff (Carl) of Dupo, Ill.; his loving sisters, Susan Hopwood (Ken) of Montezuma, Lori Hiner (George) of Brooklyn, Brenda Mikel Hagedorn (Dan) of Grinnell and Kristi Chedester (Willy) of Brooklyn; his nieces and nephews and their families; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mary Jane Goodrich Heishman; his grandparents and a brother-in-law, Doug Mikel.
