STEPHANIE GRISSOM
Marion
Stephanie Rae (Buck) Grissom, 58, of Marion, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, with her family by her side after a short, but valiant, fight with cancer.
She was born Jan. 25, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Kenneth and Delphine (Mochal) Buck. She graduated in 1974 from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, where she met her husband, Dennis Wynn Grissom. So much in love, they were married twice in 1976 – once in Elizabeth City, N.C., and once in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with family and friends.
Stephanie worked for 28 years in the pharmacy at St. Luke's Hospital, but since retiring, had enjoyed life: reading, gardening and dedicating herself to her family, grandchildren especially.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Erin (Israel) Dunn of Madison, Wis., Regina Grissom of Cedar Rapids and Rachel Grissom of Marion; grandchildren, Tsion, Josalynn, Camryn and Colton; sisters, Annette (Steve) Kray and Carla (Steve) Stang; brothers, Greg (Patty) Buck, Jeff (Lisa) Buck and Gary Buck; sons-in-law to be, Ryan Heasty and Benjamin Currie; and an extended family (both related and unrelated) that blessed her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The Grissoms will be receiving friends and family at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, 4200 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, on Saturday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A Celebration of Life in honor of Stephanie will take place Saturday, Aug. 16, at American Legion Post 298, 625 31st St., Marion, from 5 to 9 p.m. We welcome you to celebrate Stephanie at either occasion, with lots of love and laughter.
