Stephan, Gary A.

Gary A. Stephan, 57, of Marion, died Feb. 9, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Wilmer; and his daughter, Stacy. His mother, Audrie, went to be with him and his father on Feb. 10, 2010, leaving his sister, Kathy, and two brothers, Tim and Dan, all of Marion; a niece; two nephews and cousins to survive.

Gary was born March 3, 1952. He graduated from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids and was employed by Bishop's Buffet, where he faithfully worked for 36 years. Gary enjoyed being helpful to others by doing odd jobs for them.

He liked to play pool, dance around, and drink a few mini pitchers! But most of all, he loved being with his many friends!

A heartfelt “Thank You” goes out to all the patrons of the VIP Lounge, Dumas's Bar and Grill, and Wrigleyville who were so good to “Little Gary.” He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” gathering and potluck on Sunday, Feb. 28, from noon to 3 p.m. at

Lowes Park, 4500 10th St., Marion. Please come and share your stories, pictures and thoughts and even dance around a little.
