Stemm, Alvin H.
Alvin H. Stemm, 84, of rural Iowa City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Ave., in Iowa City, where visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery.
Alvin was born in rural Iowa City on Dec. 19, 1925, the son of Walter and Myrtle (Brandt) Stemm. On Dec. 19, 1964, Alvin married Ardella Dunlap in Marion. Alvin was a lifelong farmer. He also very much enjoyed his family, friends and pets.
Survivors include his wife, Ardella of Iowa City; a brother, Elwood of Iowa City; and several other relatives.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Clarence.
