Steinke, Raymond G.
Raymond G. Steinke, 74, of Clarence, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, with the Rev. David Mears. His body will be cremated after the service, with inurnment in Massillon Cemetery at a later date. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Born June 27, 1936, in rural Oxford Junction, the son of Edward and Frieda (Burmeister) Steinke, he married Beverly Long on Sept. 9, 1956, in Clarence. She died Nov. 28, 2007.
Ray had been employed at Land O' Lakes in Clarence, retiring in 2000. He had served on the Clarence Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracie (Kevin) Resewehr of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Alicia Donnel of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Travis Merrifield of Cedar Rapids; sister, Darlene Ernst of Kalispell, Mont.; and brother, Harley (Sharon) Steinke of Tipton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and beloved dog, Cydney.
