Steines, Garla A.
Garla A. Steines, 66, of Wheatland, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, in her daughter's home in Baldwin. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Chapman Funeral Home. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Following services, her body will be cremated with burial at a later date.
Garla was born Sept. 7, 1943, in Iowa City to Fay and Elnora (Willert) Emerson. She married Robert Steines on Nov. 30, 1963, in Grandmound.
Survivors include son, Barton (Angela) of Lowden; daughters, Bobbi (Walter) Bartels of Baldwin, and Bayli Billie Jo (Joshua) Brewer of Boone; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Myrna Cavanaugh of Maquoketa, and Bonnie Fox of Davenport.
Garla was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Roland Emerson; and sisters, Carole Walte and Donna Rottman.
