Steele, Leonard Albert
Leonard Albert Steele, 70, of rural North English, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at his home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, rural Millersburg, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, a general memorial fund has been established.

Leonard Albert Steele was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Chicago, a son of Leonard J. And Helen Mary Mikos Steele. He lived in Chicago until the age of seven when the family moved to the North English community in 1949. Leonard served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. On Sept. 2, 1972, he married Linda Kay Frimml in Marengo, Iowa. Leonard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English, served as president of the parish council several terms, was a member of the Knights of Columbus (Fourth Degree), and served on St. Bernard's Cemetery Committee.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Steele of rural North English; two sons, Clancy (Amy) Steele of Mitchell, S.D. and Cheyan (Heather) Steele of Iowa City; five grandchildren; and a sister, Bernadine (Robert) Oberruter of Camp Verde, Ariz.
