Starling, Ruth
Ruth Starling, 90, of Oxford Junction, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Living Center West in Cedar Rapids. Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at Massillon Cemetery.
Ruth M. Starling was born April 15, 1923, near Toronto to Roy and Minnie (Fischer) Starling. She attended grade school in Toronto then went to high school in Lost Nation. She worked at Clinton High School and Junior College until enlisting in the Naval Waves, where she served from 1944-1946. After that, she worked for Cherry-Burrell until retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Oxford Junction American Legion Auxiliary Unit 473, American Business Women and charter member of Five seasons Unit of Waves National.
Ruth is survived by one brother, Harlan (Lawretta) Busch of Oxford Junction; four nephews, Robin Busch of Orfordville, Wis., Matt Busch of Oxford Junction, Corrie (Melissa) Busch of Madison, Wis., and Chris (Sherrie) Busch of Cedar Rapids; and five great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; and a longtime companion, Carl Arnold.
