Stark, Theodore 'Ted'
Theodore “Ted” Stark, 82, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a long illness of CLL. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, with Father Brian Dellaert officiating. Burial: St. Joseph's Cemetery, rural Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Michael's Parish Center in Norway, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Ted was born Sept. 4, 1928, to Charles Henry and Edna Olive (Gensicke) Stark. On Sept. 4, 1948, he married Carolyn Hamilton. She died Jan. 16, 1973.
He married Carrol Brecht Claassen on June 11, 1976.
Survivors include his wife; children, Charles (Judy) Stark, Karen (Jerry) Junge, Connie Stark (Tom Brauch) and Sandra Lint Stark; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Emma Ard.
Also surviving are Carrol's children: Ellen Becker, Bill (Jeannie) Claassen and Sally Kuch; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Carolyn; son, Richard; daughter, Linda; five brothers and four sisters.
A memorial fund has been established.
