Stark, June
June Stark, 83, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2010. Funeral services/reception: 1 p.m. Jan. 16 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 4300 N. 82nd St., Scottsdale, AZ 85251.
Survivors include her son, Charles D.; daughter, Susan (Tom) Kernen; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W.; and son, Christopher.
June was born in London, England, on Nov. 8, 1926. She married the love of her life, Charlie, and moved to the U.S., where she traveled the world as a Navy wife. She became a U.S. citizen in 1960 and was very proud to be an American. After retiring from the Navy, June and Charlie settled in Cedar Rapids for 35 years and then moved to Scottsdale, where she had lived the past 10 years.
June always shared her positive attitude and found time for family and friends. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Yule Mart, National TTT-Chapter CJ and the Fleet Reserve.
She will be so missed by so many.
