Stanton, Gene
Gene Stanton, 85, of Edgewood, formerly of Cable and La Crosse, Wis, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Lincolnwood Assisted Living in Edgewood. Private memorial services will be held. Inurnment: Green Hill Cemetery, Edgewood, Iowa.
He was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Nora, Ill., the son of Homer and Gertrude (Wand) Stanton. He received his education in Stockton, Ill., and Cedar Falls.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Deborah) Stanton of Henderson, Nev.; three daughters, Rebecca (Mark) Stevens of Owatonna, Minn., Lorry Stanton (Kayt Humbert) of Iowa City and Sandra (Carl “Duke”) Wegmann of Edgewood; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren plus two on the way; and special friend, Betty Nabor and family of Edgewood.
