Stanley Ginsberg, 90, of Fresno, Calif., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, May 1, 2021.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Ginsberg; children, Nancy Ginsberg and Michael (Ann) Ginsberg; his brother, Herman Ginsberg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and multiple nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isadore and Rose Ginsberg; and a brother, Louis Ginsberg.
Memorials may be made to the ASPCA or the animal rescue of your choice.
Stanley was a former Linn County supervisor. He graduated from Franklin High School and the University of Iowa. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Japan during the Korean conflict. Stanley worked in his family business, Ginsberg Jewelers. He was a member of Temple Judah and B'Nai Brith. Stanley was active in the community and served on the board of Kirkwood Community College and HACAP. He also was active in the Linn County Democratic Party. He moved to West Des Moines in 1977 and Hollywood, Fla., in 1990. Stanley and his wife Susan moved to Fresno, Calif., after retiring from the retail jewelry industry.
