Stallman, Erma V.
Erma V. Stallman, 99, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at her home following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, with the Rev. Brian Dellaert officiating. Burial: St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fairfax. Visitation: 3 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, St. Michael's Parish Center, Norway, with a rosary at 7 p.m.
Erma was born Oct. 15, 1912, on a farm near Blairstown, to Henry and Vernie Brecht Emanuel. She married Bert Stallman May 25, 1947 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Fairfax.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay; sisters-in-law, Betty (Ralph) Emanuel, Betty (Dick) Emanuel, Marcella (Jake) Stallman and Rosie (George) Stallman; many nieces and nephews and their families.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Bert; son, Lynn; brothers, Clarence, Ralph and Dick Emanuel; sisters, Lila (Eldred) Brecht, Dolly (Bus) Boddicker, Leone (Orin) Kraft; and numerous nieces, nephews and family members.
Erma taught school for 31 years, a profession that was dear to her heart. She loved children of all ages. Erma was a gentle, patient and kind person. Her most precious possessions were her faith and her family. Loved by many, she will be truly missed.
A special thank you to Dr. John Klein, Dr. Dustin Arnold and Hospice of Mercy. Your genuine concern, kindness and friendship did make a difference.
Memorials may be directed to the Fairfax Fire Department, St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, the Hospice of Mercy or donor's choice.
