Squires, Cynthia Eileen Stark
Cynthia Eileen Stark Squires, 52, of 4250 N. Center Point Rd., died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at her home. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Center Point United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Mike Ellson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff; two sons, Jeremy and Andy Squires of Center Point; her mother, Lydia (Marvin) Stallman of Cedar Rapids; father and mother in-law, Everett and Darlene Squires; two brothers, Thomas (Ann) Stark of St. Paul, Minn., and Charles (Cyndi) Stark of Mendota Heights, Minn.; a sister, Sandy Stark (Randy) of Omaha, Neb.; stepbrothers, Doug Stallman of Cedar Rapids and Martin (Heather) Stallman of Cedar Rapids; stepsister, Elizabeth (Bruce) Lagerquist of Waterloo, Wis.; sister-in-law, Julie (Richard) Bos of Shellsburg; brother-in-law, Jerry (Robin) Squires of Center Point; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Thomas Edward Stark; grandparents, John and Bertha Roetlin and Dr. Cal and Alyce Stark; sister-in-law, Jody Squires; and a nephew, Rory Bos.
Cynthia was born Aug. 11, 1958, the daughter of Dr. Thomas and Lydia (Roetlin) Stark in New Orleans, La. On May 7, 1983, she married Jeff Squires at St. Pius Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Cynthia worked at Thiesen's and G.O.T. on Center Point Road as the office manager.
Cynthia was a member of Center Point United Methodist Church and worked with Miracles in Motion. She raised horses, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid outdoorswomen. Cynthia loved her family and being a mom. She enjoyed motorcycle rides with her husband, boating on the Mississippi, cooking for friends and Coe boys.
A memorial fund has been established.
