Spies, Pamela Elizabeth

Pamela Elizabeth Spies, 51, of Hiawatha, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Terry Spies; six children, Cassidy Borcherding of Phoenix, Ariz., Travis Borcherding of Austin, Texas, Genee (Scott) Mason of Cedar Rapids, Johnny (Melanie) Andersen of Cedar Rapids, Dustin Spies of Davenport and Whitney Spies of Stanwood; six grandchildren, Travis Borcherding Jr., Makayla Mason, Kirstin Andersen, Quinn Mason, Dillion Borcherding and Shaylin Andersen; and a brother, Ron Russell of Boone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Tonya Borcherding; and her grandparents, Charles and Nora Russell and Ferdinand and Elizabeth Bengtson.

Pamela was born Nov. 18, 1959, the daughter of John and Beverly (Bengtson) Russell, in Lincoln, Neb. She attended school in Gilbert, Iowa. On May 29, 2009, she married Terry Spies. Pamela most recently worked at Sam's Club.

Pamela enjoyed wildlife, traveling, and trucking with her husband. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
