Spicher, Marjorie 'Marge' Eleanor
Marjorie “Marge” Eleanor Spicher, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died April 7, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Carroll Brown will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 8 tonight at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are her three daughters, Sandra Mentzer, Sharon Buhr and husband Steven, and Susan Behrends and husband Randy, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Tammy, Jeff, Michael, Ryan, Jenna, Jamie and Kelsy; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Eubanks and wife Margaret of Holton, Kan.; and a sister, Joan Decker and husband Cecil of Yuma, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Paul Eubanks.
Marge was born April 23, 1924, in Holton, Kan., the beloved daughter of Ralph and Alice (Glenn) Eubanks. She was united in marriage to Donald H. Spicher on April 13, 1943, in Topeka, Kan. He preceded her in death on Aug. 24, 1969. She was employed for several years as a bookkeeper at the Linn County Auditor's Office.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She also had a great love for her Chihuahua, Baby, who preceded Marge in death by one week. Above all, her greatest enjoyment was the time spent with her family.
She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marge's honor may be made to the Iowa Lions Eye Bank.
