Spicher, Eileen Marie Schneider

Eileen Marie Schneider Spicher, born Nov. 21, 1939, passed on to Heaven after a sudden illness, on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen Schneider; brothers, Dwayne, William and Richard; a son-in-law, Ric Allen; and many in-laws.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Ronald of Kalona; son, Michael; daughter, Patty Allen; grandchildren, Joshua and Rochelle, Ryan and Amy and Emmett Allen; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Maylee; and two sisters-in-law, Cleola Schneider and Eileen Schneider.

She will be remembered with great love and celebrated for her life and humor. She took each of life's blows with grace and great faith and this Earth has lost a little sparkle in her passing, yet those who knew her and carry her memory in their hearts will keep that sparkle from diminishing.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with a rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19. Due to weather, there will be no graveside service. A celebration of her life will be held after the Funeral Mass in the Holy Trinity Parish Center.

A memorial fund in Eileen's honor has been established for Iowa City Hospice.
