Speth, David R.
David R. Speth, 58, of Marion, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at ManorCare in Cedar Rapids from complications of Huntington's disease. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, with a vigil service beginning at 4 p.m. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the funeral home, by Rev. David Beckman. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors by American Legion Wapsi Post 421 of Central City.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; three sons, Christian (Krisstie) Speth, Eric (Tammy) Speth and Gary Speth; five grandchildren, Scott, Cole, Cade, Erin and Lauren Speth; his mother, Clara Speth; two brothers, Dale Speth and Terry (Carolyn) Speth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Dave was born April 8, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Donald and Clara (Blondell) Speth. He graduated from Davenport West High School in 1970. On March 11, 1972, Dave was united in marriage to Cindy Lee Patsch in Davenport. Dave was an Army veteran and worked at FedEx for 20 years.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dave's memory.
