Spencer Gene Steepleton, 38, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 22, 2018, at his home. Funeral service: 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Spencer was born Oct. 15, 1979, the son of Stephen and Rosemary (Hofer) Steepleton, in Cedar Rapids. He was married to Kelli Butler on Dec. 26, 2012, in Cedar Rapids. Spencer worked as a laborer for Delaney Concrete Construction.
He enjoyed many hobbies, including camping, fishing and bonfires in the backyard with his family. Spencer was a people person with a heart of gold. He often would go out of his way to help others and had a compassionate counselor's heart. Spencer absolutely adored his family and they felt the same about him. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Jesus became the love of his life, and now he's enjoying life to the fullest with Him.
Survivors include his wife, Kelli Steepleton; daughter, Mariah Steepleton; son, Braxton Steepleton; mother, Rosemary Steepleton; three brothers, John (Michele) Steepleton, Richard (Valerie) Steepleton and Jeremy (Stacey) Steepleton; in-laws, Billy and Sue Butler; several nieces and nephews; many brothers and sisters in Christ; and several other loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
