Sparks, Wilma A.
Wilma A. Sparks, 91, of Living Center West, died there Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, after a long illness. Graveside services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sisters, Erma Halverson of Cedar Rapids and Bessie Delk of Newton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Garland, Harlan and Lawrence Sparks; and two sisters, Ina Beadle and Zelma Harris.
Wilma was born Feb. 22, 1918, in Cainsville, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Eunice Landis Sparks. Wilma worked at Ralston Foods and retired from there after 39 years of service, as well as working at the Eagles Club for several years. She enjoyed bowling and belonged to several local bowling leagues. Wilma loved to travel throughout the United Stated as well as Europe, collecting elephants from the many places she visited.
She was a wonderful person who will be missed by her many friends and beloved family.
