Spalti, Berniece M.
Berniece M. Spalti, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
Berniece was born April 24, 1918, in Omaha, Neb., and married Jay K Spalti there on Sept. 2, 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband Jay and daughters, Dianne and Marilyn.
Survivors include her sons, Donald Spalti and fiancee Gay Younker of Cedar Rapids, and Rodney Spalti of Wichita Falls, Texas; and grandchildren, Rachel Kimble, Sara Spalti, Jason Spalti, Justin Spalti, Alisha Tuttle and Melanie.
Berniece also had two great-grandchildren.
Berniece was a loving and caring wife, mother and friend to many. She will always be remembered for her wonderful caring smile.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Bill Warhover. Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hospice House of Mercy.
