Sorrell, Daniel D. 'Dan'

Daniel D. “Dan” Sorrell, 51, of Washington, died Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Washington County Hospital following a yearlong battle with cancer. Celebration of life services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Troy Richmond officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Church.

Dan is survived by his wife, Errin Sorrell of Washington; son, Spencer Sorrell of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Taylor Sorrell of Washington; stepdaughter, Kirsty Robertson of Washington; stepson, Seth Townsend of Washington; father, Dennis Sorrell and wife Connie of Washington; mother, Jo Havel and husband Terry of Iowa City; sister, Denise Cochran and husband Keith of Lone Tree; sister, Micki Shanklin of Iowa City; and sister, Alicia Hanson and husband Curt of McKinney, Texas. He is also survived by his uncle, Dave Sorrell and wife Nancy of Washington; aunt, Pat Anderson and husband John of Houston, Texas; uncle, Glen Miller of Kalona; and father and mother-in-law, Larry and Pat Dessner of Columbus Junction.
