Solberg, Beverly Peterson

Beverly Peterson Solberg, 71, of 1965 Clifford Rd., Palo, died at her home Friday, June 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Randy Kasch. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday after 9 a.m. Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is serving the family.

Beverly is survived by her husband, David; her three children, Kris Solberg, Greta (Darrell) McChesney and Michael (Barbara Snitker) Solberg, and five grandchildren, Jourdan, Max and Mika McChesney and Evan and Jacob Solberg, all of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Beverly was born Dec. 31, 1940, in Dawson, Minn., the daughter of Roy and Arnola Osven Peterson. She graduated from Madison High School in 1958 and later married Michael David Solberg on Oct. 12, 1963, in Sherman, S.D.

Beverly was the founder and owner of Solberg's and retired in 2006 after 27 years. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, the Sons of Norway, and the Cook Cancer Wellness Center.

Beverly enjoyed sewing, golfing, playing bridge, painting, cooking, and entertaining friends and family.
