Snell, Norward 'Bob'

Norward “Bob” Snell, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died at Mercy Medical Center on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer. Inurnment: St. John Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Bob is survived by his parents, Norman and Imogene Snell of Cedar Rapids; children, Annie Hernandez of Marion, Adam (Donna) Chaffee of Hiawatha, Maria (Etu) Chaffee of North Liberty, David (Shannon) Hernandez and Jane Snell, all of Cedar Rapids; brother, Mark (Shirley) Snell of Marion; sister, Theresa Snell of Cedar Rapids; nieces, Dawn Leland and Sharon Mentus; nephew, Jason Snell; 11 grandchildren; and his dogs, Lexi and Willow.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; sister, Shirley Hazelbaker; and nephew, Gregory Snell.

Bob was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Chicago. He married Mary Hernandez in Anamosa on June 28, 1989. She died in 2009. Bob was like a godfather to all his friends and was known for his generosity.

He enjoyed cooking, antiquing, fishing, and especially the time spent with family. He also loved to deal in cars.
