Smith, Joan Marie
Joan Marie Smith, 72, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Grandview Cemetery, rural Tama, with the Rev. Dr. Kim Wilson officiating. A gathering will follow at the Tama American Legion.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon of Tama; four children, Teri (Dave) Chelsvig of Cumming, Vicki (Robert) Lee of Marshalltown, Camron (Jacque) Smith of Rockford and Diana (Brett Houghton) Brush of Marshalltown; two stepchildren, Jean Cole of Norwoodville and Marvin Ritts of Manson; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Judy) Curson of Green Mountain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is handling the arrangements.
