Smith, Donna L.
Donna L. Smith, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at her home. Memorial service: 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 p.m. until service time Tuesday.
Survivors include her husband, Jay Smith; children, Jeffrey (Melissa) Smith and Zachary (Laura) Smith; siblings, Sandra (Phil) Schazle, Ronald Milroy, Willetta (Richard) Waterhouse, Kathy Milroy, Karla (Kenneth) Sharp and Alice Kluesner; grandchildren, Desmon and Natalee; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Lindsay; brother, Kenneth Milroy; brother-in-law, Loras Kluesner; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Milroy and Joyce Milroy.
Donna was born June 18, 1947, in Manchester, daughter of Wilbur and Mildred (Appleby) Milroy. She married Jay Smith on June 24, 1967, in Manchester. Donna retired from Sodexo. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, music, and gardening and was a martial arts instructor. Donna also volunteered for many years at the public schools in Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
