Smith, Diane D.
Diane D. Smith, 59, of Cedar Rapids, died June 12, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. at Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming, Iowa.
Survivors include her mother, Rose Ilene Mere of Wyoming; children, Angela Phelps and Courtney Smith, both of Des Moines, and Travis Smith of Cedar Rapids; siblings, David (Mary) Phelps and Jack Berry, both of Cedar Rapids, Tracey (Gordon) Blades of Riverside, Ruth Thomsen of Marion and Brenda Farrington of Wyoming; grandchildren, Ezekiel Phelps, Tavish Shackford, Brooklyn Smith, Anthony Smith and Payton Johnson; and one great-grandson, Amare Frazier Phelps.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Harris Phelps; husband, Howard Smith; brother, James Berry III; and sister, Betty Ann Phelps.
Diane was born March 22, 1953, daughter of David Harris and Rose (McCalmant) Phelps. She later became a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Wyoming.
A memorial fund has been established.
