Sloan, Steven Arthur
Steven Arthur Sloan, 58, of Narvarre, Fla., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Dec. 21, 2010, at Gulf Breeze Hospital, Gulf Breeze, Fla. Services: 1:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services in Cedar Rapids, with Pastor William Gentry officiating.
Survivors include friend, Ary Habig; mother, Marilyn Miller; children, Stacy and Keith; brothers, Dr. Ric Sloan, Michael Sloan and Luke Sloan; sisters, Patricia Perkins and Jody Murphy; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Fredric James Sloan.
Steve was born in Cedar Rapids on May 5, 1952, to Dr. Fredric and Marilyn Sloan. He attended Washington High School and later served in the Army from 1972-1974 in Germany. He was united in marriage to Jeannie Fangmann on April 24, 1970. He co-founded Sloan Bros. Fiberglass which he operated for 20 years.
