Slechta, Emily
Emily Slechta, 96, a resident of The Meth-Wick Community/Woodlands Care Center, died there Friday, Jan. 22, 2010. Per Emily's wishes, there will be no service or visitation. Her body was cremated. Inurnment: King Cemetery, Vail, Iowa. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two nieces, Faith Fisher of North Platte, Neb., and Kathyrn McCullough of Vail, Iowa; a great-nephew, Shawn McCullough of Vail, Iowa; and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Fisher and Lillian Coats; and a brother, William Slechta.
Emily was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Vail, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary Ressler Slechta. She was employed by Paul L. Jones Dental Laboratory for 34 years and was a member of First Congregational Church.
Family would like to extend appreciation to the staff at The Meth-Wick Community for all the loving care and support for the last seven years.
