Slaughter, Howard 'Howie'
Howard “Howie” Slaughter, 62, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at home, Friday, Jan. 29, 2010. Celebration of Life: Saturday from Noon to 4 p.m. at Forest Ridge Clubhouse, 1220 Sierra Drive NE. Arrangements are with the Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa.
Howie is survived by his children, Kimberly (James) Pettinari, Kelli Slaughter, Terry (Danielle) Slaughter, all of Cedar Rapids; his sister, Paulette (Ron) Glaus of Birmingham; ten grandchildren; three nieces; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Slaughter and Wilma Byers.
Howie was born Sept. 15, 1947, in Cedar Rapids to Paul and Wilma Slaughter. He married Cheryl Anderson on Sept. 6, 1968. They were married for 14 years. He served with the U.S. Army from 1966 through 1968.
Howie loved his family and friends. He had a passion for music, dancing and his Chicago Bears! He will be deeply missed.
