Slaughter, Charles
Charles Slaughter, 63, of Hiawatha, died as a result of an accident on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at the Apostolic Assembly of Anamosa by the Rev. Clayton George. The family will greet visitors one hour before the service. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is assisting the family.
Survivors include his children, Timothy (Barbara) Slaughter of Cedar Rapids and Angela Townsend of San Bernardino, Calif.; brother, Wayne (Wanda) Slaughter of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant child, Charles Jr.
Charles was born Jan. 24, 1949, in Chicago, to Carmie and Phyllis Slaughter. He worked for several trucking companies. He liked to do anything outdoors, especially fishing and camping as well as reading.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
