Slater, Mary Elizabeth (Green)
Mary Elizabeth (Green) Slater, 93, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of East Moline, Ill., died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour before to the service at the funeral home. Private burial: Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Ill.
Survivors include two brothers-in-law, Jack E. Mills of Hiawatha, and Thomas F. Kelly of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews living throughout the United States.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings, Catherine Green, Berniece Kelly, Helen Mills and Harold Green.
Mary was born May 28, 1917, the daughter of LeRoy and Maude (Kelly) Green in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Lyle P. Slater in 1947, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1968.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice in Mary's memory.
